Coriander Seeds Whole

from $6.99

Coriander seeds are the dried fruits of the plant we know as cilantro and as floral as cardamom. Their flavour is mild, sweet, light and they are the basis for all kinds of curries and spice mixtures (the seeds are fun to crunch on, too). . Dry roasting coriander enhances its nutty and citrus flavour dramatically.

Coriander seeds are easy to grind. We recommend buying whole and grinding them fresh when needed using a spice or coffee grinder or a mortar and pestle. The difference in flavour is remarkable. However, for those who don’t want the trouble, we do offer ground coriander.

Coriander is used for digestion problems including upset stomach, loss of appetite, hernia, nausea, diarrhea, bowel spasms, and intestinal gas. It is also used to treat measles, hemorrhoids, toothaches, worms, and joint pain, as well as infections caused by bacteria and fungus.

Some breast-feeding women use coriander to increase milk flow.
